One person seriously injured, transported to hospital, after chain-reaction crash involving 5 vehicles closes the Beechmont Levee.

The Beechmont Levee has been reopened after a five-car accident forced it close in both directions at Columbia Parkway for roughly four hours Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred just after 7 a.m. on Beechmont Avenue between Columbia Parkway and Batavia Road, Cincinnati Police said. Police blocked Beechmont Avenue at Columbia Parkway and were diverting traffic away from the area.

Police said an eastbound car went left of center for an unknown reason and struck a westbound vehicle, which started a chain reaction of crashes.
