Juan Linares, 31, was driving east on I-90 in a car with Chavez, a 10-month-old boy, and an 11-year-old girl as passengers when he somehow lost control, departed the highway and struck the median before re-entering the road. Upon re-entry, Linares' car collided with a semi-truck driven by Russell Lanman, 58. At about 1:00pm, Cunningham was traveling westbound on I-90 when she attempted to change lanes, but then ended up striking another westbound car, driven by Scott Collins, 42, and both cars departed the road and came to rest in the median. Cunningham was seriously injured in the accident and was airlifted to a hospital in Seattle, but Collins was uninjured in the accident.
At about 12:30 pm, Hernandez was traveling westbound on I-90 and lost control when she tried to change lanes. Her car then spun and collided with a 2007 Lexus 470 driven by Kandie Baker, 47, of Cle Elum, which caused both cars to depart the road on the right, rollover, and land upside down.
