Columbia, SCEddie Moe was standing and waving outside the Select Tire on Magnolia Street when a vehicle ran off the road and hit him, along with a sign and two parked cars. He died at the scene from blunt force trauma. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 76-year-old Carnell Benton.

Charleston, SCJeff Hughes crashed his pickup truck into a swimming pool in Mount Pleasant and then fled the scene, leaving his truck in the pool. He claims that he drove into the pool to avoid hitting an animal that was in the roadway. He is facing several charges including leaving the scene of a collision, driving too fast for conditions, and driving under suspension.
