The homeowner told police she saw a man exit the vehicle and tell her he was going to get a tow truck, then fled on foot toward Adluh Street off Fairmont Avenue.
Jeff Hughes crashed his pickup truck into a swimming pool in Mount Pleasant and then fled the scene, leaving his truck in the pool. He claims that he drove into the pool to avoid hitting an animal that was in the roadway. He is facing several charges including leaving the scene of a collision, driving too fast for conditions, and driving under suspension.
