Passenger killed, driver airlifted to hospital, after their car collides with a tractor-trailer on Highway 157 in Cullman.

One person was killed and another seriously injured in an 18-wheeler crash near the entrance of the Cullman Regional Medical Center this morning.

According to the Cullman Police Department, the crash happened before 9 a.m. on Highway 157. The passenger in a 2010 Lincoln was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was flown to UAB via life-flight.

The semi driver was taken to Cullman Regional Medical Center for observation.

Authorities say the semi was traveling northbound when the driver of the car appeared to turn into the hospital's entrance.
