The male driver, 26, of a blue Toyota Corolla was traveling north on Fondren at about 2:20 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle near Beechnut Street, went up on a grass median and struck two trees. The driver and a backseat male passenger were ejected from the Toyota. The passenger was later pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital. The driver and two other passengers, a male and a female, were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries.
Several people, including three children, are in the hospital after a car crashed into their vehicle in Southwest Houston. The crash happened when a BMW was speeding on 1200 West Bellfort Street around 1 a.m. Sunday and collided with a pickup truck. The BMW then flipped over and the driver was ejected from the car. That driver was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. The five people inside the truck were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
