Houston, TXA 64-year old man identified as Donald Brown was struck and killed in a crosswalk Thursday at Cullen Boulevard and Knoxville Street in Houston, TX. The driver of a Volkswagen Beetle, Edwin Jerome Watson, hit the man and did not stop at the scene. Police later apprehended the driver in Pearland, after a tip.

Houston, TXErick Chavez, a passenger in a minor car accident involving two vehicles, in the 9700 block of Sheldon Rd near U.S. Highway 90, north of Channelview, was killed after being struck by a Chevrolet Silverado. Chavez exited the vehicle to move it out of the ditch and was hit. He was pronounced dead by paramedics. The case remains open and under investigation.
