A woman was killed early Christmas Eve morning after she was crushed by her own car in northwest Houston.
Police said the 24-year-old woman was headed westbound on Hempstead Highway around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning when she lost control of her Mercedes on a curve near Dacoma Street.
Officials said the car started flipping and the woman was tossed from the vehicle. The car landed on top of the woman, crushing her to death.
It was unclear if alcohol factored into the crash.
Police say the driver of a SUV intentionally ran over a 50-year-old man on Christmas Eve in southeast Houston and fled the scene.
Around 9 p.m. Tuesday, witnesses saw the victim speak to the driver inside the SUV at 6000 Bellfort near Mykawa. The man tried to run away from the car. As the man fell down, the driver ran him over. He died at the scene.
Police said one witness provided part of the SUV's license plate number as "82G."
A woman who survived a car crash in north Houston was killed in another accident moments after the initial crash, according to witnesses.
The first accident happened around 2 a.m. Sunday on the North Loop near the North Freeway. Police said the woman was taking the exit ramp when she lost control of her car and crashed into a barricade.
Then for some reason, police said the driver got out of her car and stood on the freeway.
