Lawrence Karella, 55, leads police on chase on Kaifornsky Beach Road in Anchorage, Alaska

Troopers first attempted to pull over Lawrence Karella on Kaifornsky Beach Road for passing in a no-passing zone. After failing to pull over, troopers had to chase Karella for several miles before they used spike strips to deflate his tires. Once arrested, they found that Karella had outstanding warrants for a hit-and-run collision and for tampering with physical evidence. He was taken to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility where he was held without bail.
