Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX29-year-old Joshua Reed was on a kayaking outing with five other people on Trinity River, when they mistakenly entered a restricted area near an Eagle Mountain Lake dam at about 7:00 p.m. To prevent overflowing from recent excessive rain, discharge water was being released through the dam, and the kayakers were swept up in it. All of the kayaks overturned, but everyone other than Reed managed to get out of the dangerous river. His body was found dead the next day.
