Salt Lake City, UTA car was going freeway speeds on westbound I-80 at about shortly after 4:30 p.m. when they rear-ended a tractor-trailer that was going about 25 mph. The car became crushed and wedged beneath the trailer, killing the two men inside. Check back for updates on this developing story.

Thursday, January 1, 2015On Thursday afternoon, a man was driving a motorcycle on between lanes of traffic on I-80 when the vehicles in front of him slowed down. The man ended up hitting the passenger side of a pickup truck before rear-ending a semi-truck, which ejected him from his motorcycle and left him dead from the collision. Omaha, NETwo people were injured in an accident on Interstate 80 East that slowed traffic outside of Ashland Saturday evening. A truck caught fire and when a car slowed down in the left lane and was rear-ended by a semi. Two people in the car was hospitalized. No word on their conditions. WOWT 6 News is at the scene and will provide more details as they become available.

Saturday, April 12, 2014The Iowa State Patrol has identified the teenager killed in Sunday’s fatal crash on Interstate 80 in Coralville.
According to the state patrol’s minimal crash report, Sambatu A. Ibit, 19, of Des Moines, was a passenger in the 2003 Toyota Corolla that lost control, hit the south wall of the interstate and was rear ended by a truck. The crash happened a 2:06 p.m. at the 239 mile marker of the westbound lanes of Interstate 80. Ibit was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
