Joplin, MO-Pittsburg, KSHoward W. Shelton and Celeste L. Shelton were standing outside of their car when they were hit by a tractor-trailer and were pronounced deceased at the crash site. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Dragan Radivojevic, 44, and passenger Aleksandar Radivojevic, 21, were transported to a Miami hospital with minor injuries.

Joplin, MO-Pittsburg, KSThe Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Springdale, Arkansas teen was killed when he was hit by a car on Highway 10 east of Miami early Saturday. Troopers said the crash happened between 3:30 and 3:45 a.m. in Ottawa County. The OHP report stated a 2008 Honda driven by Dylan McCoy, 19, of Miami was changing lanes when he looked back to check for traffic and struck something. He assumed it was a deer and continued home. McCoy's father checked the car for damage later in daylight and notified an off-duty OHP trooper about the collision.

Joplin, MO-Pittsburg, KSA 13-year-old girl was hit and struck by a passing vehicle on Wednesday as she darted across a five-lane highway, Miami Police said.
Austina Barton, of Miami, died at Baptist Integris Hospital. Barton was trying to get across North Main Street and it was dark outside. One vehicle swerved to miss her and the second vehicle hit her, police said.
