Larry R. James, 62, killed and James Crouch, 63, seriously injured after James fails to yield at stop sign at Highland Loop Road and State Road 54 in New Port Richey, FL

Shortly before 10:00am, James pulled up to the stop sign at State Road 54 from Highland Loop Road, but did not properly yield to cross-traffic and drove into the way of a car driven by Abigail Bryant, 38. Bryant's car struck James' on the left side, causing it to turn and end up in the median, as well as causing the rear bumper to fly off which was then hit by a car driven by Carlos Torres Arroyo, 32. James and his passenger Crouch were both transported to the hospital, but James eventually died while Crouch received treatment for serious injuries.

A 41-year-old New Port Richey man died Friday night from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash in Pasco County.

William Moran was transported to the Medical Center of Trinity just after 7 p.m. where he passed away a short time later.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Moran was traveling south along Seven Springs Blvd. in his 2004 Ford Mustang just north of Humboldt Ave. when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve. Investigators do not yet know what caused the driver veer off the roadway.

Kevin Monaco, 16, killed, Jamie Florio, 16, Michael Morgan, 17, seriously injured, Megan Kahn, 16, suffers minor injuries, all transported to hospital, after their minivan leaves the Lake Forest Circle roadway in New Port Richey, and crashes into a tree.

A crash on a Pasco County road killed one teen and injured three others.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say Kevin Monaco, 16, was behind the wheel of a Dodge Caravan driving on Lake Forest Circle at 2:55 p.m. on Friday.

As he approached a curve near Forest Lake Drive, troopers say he “failed to negotiate the curve safely”, and ran off the road.

The minivan hit a tree, and burst into flames. Troopers say Monaco died at the scene. The other three passengers were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
