A woman is recovering from serious injuries after she was hit by a car while trying to cross a street. Harris County sheriff's deputies said the woman tried to cross FM 1960 near Cypress Station around 1 a.m. Tuesday. Investigators said the woman was not in the crosswalk at the time she was hit. Officials said a man, who was driving with his wife, did not see the woman and hit her. The driver stopped and waited for officers to arrive at the scene. Investigators said the driver had been drinking, but were not certain if he was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

A motorcyclist lost control on FM 1960 overnight and was hit by a pickup truck in northwest Houston.

Police say the motorcyclist was leaving a shopping center parking lot near Tomball Parkway when something went wrong, sending him into oncoming traffic.

"Apparently lost control of his motorcycle, crossed three lanes of traffic and went into the eastbound lanes," said Sgt. J.R. Roberts with the Houston Police Department.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and police say that is when the pickup truck hit him. He died at the scene.
