A 2-year-old boy was struck by a car and killed outside an elementary school Wednesday, authorities said. The boy was walking with his mother after dropping off his sibling – a kindergarten student – at Ansgar Larsen Elementary School in Oxnard, the school’s superintendent said. The toddler’s mother was walking with the boy and stopped to talk to someone in the parking when a substitute teacher driving in struck the child. A spokesman with the Oxnard Police Department said the tragic incident “looks like it was a complete unintended accident” and there are “no criminal elements” at play.
