According to the Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday on Liberty Highway, approximately 4 miles east of Pendleton.
Anderson County Coroner Don McCown identified the victim as 43-year-old Michael David Siders.
Troopers say Siders was driving a 2008 Honda Accord and was traveling east on Liberty Highway when the car swerved to the left and struck a Dodge pickup.
Siders was entrapped in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
State troopers said an 11-year-old boy was killed in a deadly wreck near Pendleton.
According to the highway patrol, the wreck happened at 4:35 p.m. Saturday on Cherry Street Extension near Danehower Road.
State troopers said a vehicle traveling south on Cherry Street Extension lost control, went off the left side of the road and crashed into a tree.
Two other people in the vehicle were taken to AnMed Hospital. There is no update on their condition.
