Michael David Siders, 43, killed in crash on Liberty Highway near Pendleton on June 17.

According to the Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday on Liberty Highway, approximately 4 miles east of Pendleton.

Anderson County Coroner Don McCown identified the victim as 43-year-old Michael David Siders.

Troopers say Siders was driving a 2008 Honda Accord and was traveling east on Liberty Highway when the car swerved to the left and struck a Dodge pickup.

Siders was entrapped in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

According to troopers, the driver of the pickup, 44-year-old Matthew McCleer was not injured.

This accident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
