Ventura, CAA military jet crashed into a field near a naval base in Southern California. the Pilot was killed in the accident at approximately 5:15 p.m. Wednesday near Naval Station Ventura County, which is located near the city of Port Hueneme northwest of Los Angeles. The plane was a Hawker Hunter, a single-seat fighter jet. We will update this report as more information becomes available.

Ventura, CAA 7-year-old boy died and at least three people were hospitalized in a crash that shut down a stretch of Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura County Wednesday, officials said.
The crash happened just after 7 p.m. on PCH near Las Posas Road in Point Mugu, the CHP said.
According to CHP, 34-year-old Latoya Najar of Camarillo was driving a 2002 Ford Mustang northbound on the PCH approaching Las Posas Road. The vehicle then left the roadway and struck a tree.

Ventura, CAThree people were injured when a fishing boat ran aground in Anacapa Island off the coast of Port Hueneme Monday.
The boat, known as Sea Biscuit, ran aground at Anacapa Island around 12:26 a.m., and was carrying about two dozen people.
Authorities say those onboard the boat sent a distress signal. That's when Oxnard firefighters jumped on a Coast Guard boat from the Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard and responded to the scene.
It took crews two hours to tow the boat back to the mainland.
