A 55-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car on the border of Minneapolis and Brooklyn Center Friday night and died shortly after at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, police said Saturday. The driver, an 18-year-old woman, was heading northwest on Osseo Road and hit the woman, who was crossing N. 49th Avenue, said a Minneapolis police spokeswoman. The victim was wearing a dark-red coat, and the driver, who was believed to be driving at or near the posted speed limit, never saw the victim in the darkness police said.
