New York, NYSuffolk County police say that 29-year-old Michelle McDonald was eastbound in a Mercedes sedan on Route 25A when her vehicle slammed into a Mack dump truck that was backing out of a driveway at 6 a.m. Friday. McDonald was brought to John T. Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson, where she was pronounced deceased. The driver of the dump truck, Brad Parnell, 43, of South Setauket, was not hurt.

New York, NYPolice say a 54-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his Harley Davidson sideswiped a car and struck some trees on Long Island.
The crash occurred at 8:55 p.m. Sunday in Rocky Point.
Police say Russell Pallace was riding eastbound on Route 25A when he sideswiped a 2009 Cadillac. Police say he then headed westbound on Route 25A and turned south on Rocky Point Road where he attempted to pass other vehicles.
Police say he lost control of the bike, left the roadway and struck some trees.
The Mastic resident was pronounced dead at the scene.
