Doss Wilson, 29, injured after his bicycle collides with sheriff's vehicle at 54th Avenue North and 28th Street North in Saint Petersburg, FL

At approximately 2:00 a.m., 29-year-old Doss Wilson was riding his bike to the north on the side of the southbound lane of 28th Street North, when he may have run a red light at the intersection with 54th Avenue North. He was then struck by a police cruiser driven by Deputy Kannika Nimithkoune, 33, who was westbound on the cross road, and sustained injuries considered to be non-life threatening.

31-year-old Aaron Davis, a well-known chef in St. Petersburg, was crossing on a green light in a crosswalk at Second Street and Central Avenue with his co-worker Brian Lee LaFrance, 28, at about 2:00 a.m., when they were both struck by a drunk driver Jason Lanard Mitchell, 25. Mitchell was speeding and ran a red light. Davis was killed at the scene, while LaFrance sustained critical injuries but recovered at the hospital. After attempting to flee the scene, Mitchell and his passenger Rayvorris Altuan Oliver, 27, were both found and arrested.
