At about 5:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving, police say 31-year-old Anthony Neeley of Seminole was driving his 2003 Porsche SUV nearly 100 mph when slammed into a 2009 Toyota Corolla at the intersection of 34th Street and Central Avenue, instantly killing Douglas Simpson, 64, and Christina Simpson, 53, of St. Petersburg. It appears that Neeley was traveling east in the curb lane on Central Avenue when he slammed his Porsche SUV into a Toyota Corolla as it was trying to turn south onto 34th Street.
