Investigators say that school bus driver Bryan Stachey suffered a medical emergency and lost conciousness before crashing a school bus into a home at the corner of Coleman Boylan Drive and Water Oak Drive at about 7:30 a.m. An 11-year-old student was in the bus at the time and sustained some minor head injuries, but managed to climb out of the bus and walk home; he was later brought to a hospital for evaluation after his mother was notified. A teacher's aide also sustained some minor injuries, and was the only other person on the bus.

Joseph Saccente, 92, was driving a Colonial Taxi to the north on Shore Road shortly after 7:00 a.m., when investigators say he experienced a medical emergency. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a few mailboxes before he crashed into a home with five people inside, causing major damage to the building. Fortunately, no one in the house was injured, but Saccente was severely hurt and pronounced dead soon after he was brought to the hospital.

On Wednesday afternoon, a car crashed into a home in Sewickly Township on the 200 block of Firehall Avenue. The driver, a man believed to be in his 50s, was trapped inside the vehicle. He was extricated and brought to Forbes Hospital. Investigators believe the man may have had a medical incident that caused him to crash into the house. We'll update this story as we learn more.

A 58-year-old woman was driving her truck on St. Charles Ave when she lost conciousness and crashed into a Rite Aid Pharmacy. No bystanders were hurt, but the woman was taken to a hospital for an evaluation. Police are still investigating this crash.

Wayne Laney, 75, was pronounced deceased at the crash site after his pickup was hit on U.S. 12 by a westbound pickup driven by an 18-year-old at 7:50 a.m. Friday. Laney’s truck swerved and entered a diner's parking lot, and crashed into the east wall of the diner, causing extensive damage. Laney was known to experience seizures. No other injuries were reported.
