A 92-year-old cab driver from West Sayville may have suffered a medical emergency before his taxi crashed into an Oakdale home Thursday morning, police said.

The home sustained severe damage, but luckily the five people inside the structure were not injured.
Joseph Saccente, 92, was driving a Colonial Taxi to the north on Shore Road shortly after 7:00 a.m., when investigators say he experienced a medical emergency. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a few mailboxes before he crashed into a home with five people inside, causing major damage to the building. Fortunately, no one in the house was injured, but Saccente was severely hurt and pronounced dead soon after he was brought to the hospital.
