A woman was killed in a head-on crash in Southwest Portland Monday, police said. The crash occurred just before 3 p.m. at the intersection of Southwest Barbur Boulevard and Southwest Miles Street. Witnesses said the car caught fire after it collided head-on with a Portland Water Bureau truck. A Good Samaritan tried to pull the crash victim out of her burning car, but could not save her, authorities said. Police said the victim died at the scene, but they have not yet released her name. Firefighters were able to douse the flames as they spread along the nearby hillside.

The 43-year-old driver of a pickup truck was in custody Sunday night for investigation of vehicular assault after the vehicle went through a guardrail, rolled off Interstate 5 in Federal Way and trapped the driver and a passenger inside, according to the Washington State Patrol. The crash happened at I-5 and South 288th Street at approx. 7:00 p.m. The driver was also being investigated for DUI. The passenger was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

A 14-year-old boy was killed Thursday night in a crash in Seabeck, said officials with the Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue. The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. in the area of Seabeck Holly Road and Larson Lane. Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue received a call in reference to a crash at the location.  When crews arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle off the roadway and upside down in a creek. Two teens inside the vehicle got themselves out, but a third teen was trapped inside as the vehicle as it filled with water. Crews extricated the boy and started performing CPR.
