Wednesday, January 1, 2014Two people have been injured in a car crash in Ocala on Thursday morning after a pickup truck hit a power pole and overturned.
SW 20th Street was shut down as police investigated the crash, which had two people trapped inside the pickup truck for hours.
The crash occurred just before 5 a.m. and it took nearly two hours each to extricate both victims out of the vehicle.
The victims were taken to Ocala Regional Trauma Center.

Columbus, OHOne person is dead and another is injured after their vehicle crashed and overturned late Tuesday.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the 2000 block of Brock Road in Paint Township, at about 9:49 p.m. Tuesday, on the report of a crash.
Deputies said, when they arrived on scene, they found a 2006 Ford F-Series pickup truck overturned in a streamline near the roadway.

Tuesday, December 31, 2013A mother has been charged with driving under the influence after her two young children were killed in a car crash, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said Melissa Patton, 32, is charged with two counts of felony driving under the influence and driving under suspension.
According to troopers, Patton was driving a car at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday on Wells Highway when the car traveled off the road, hit a church sign and overturned.

Monday, December 30, 2013Officials continue to investigate a crash in east Orange County that closed southbound lanes of a busy road.
Orange County Fire Rescue said the crash occurred just before 11 a.m. Monday on Goldenrod Road at Valencia College Lane.
A 32-year-old man was trapped inside a vehicle and was later taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they responded to a call for the accident at 11:46 p.m. Monday night. A police spokesman said the victim was an adult male whose Chevrolet Camaro rolled over into a wooded area near the road. He was found unresponsive by officers and had to be extricated from the car. The victim was transported to Prince George's Hospital Center, where he was declared dead shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

Los Angeles, CAA 20-year-old woman was killed Monday when an alleged drunken driver slammed the car she was traveling in into a pole, authorities said.
The crash happened about 12:30 a.m. in the 17000 block of Roscoe Boulevard in Northridge, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The driver of a late-model Ford Focus was speeding when he failed to negotiate an S-shaped turn in the road and lost control, according to a LAPD Detective.

Washington, DCAn accident near Silver Spring's White Oak Shopping Center sent one Metro bus driver to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to Montgomery County Fire Department, crews responded to a Metro bus crash in the 11200 block of New Hampshire Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Monday.
The bus driver had exited the bus on New Hampshire Avenue when it began rolling and eventually pinned her against a retaining wall, according to officials.
Officials say the bus was not in service at the time. She was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries where she later died.

Boston, MAA driver survived a horrifying crash on Route 9 in Newton Monday morning as his pickup truck ended up wedged underneath a tractor-trailer.
The accident happened just before 7 a.m. in the westbound lanes outside the Chestnut Hill Mall.
Police stated that the driver of the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado hit some black ice and could not stop in time to avoid hitting the tractor-trailer which was crossing Route 9 at the time of the accident.
Several firefighters were called in to help free him from the pickup with the Jaws of Life.

Seattle-Tacoma, WAA 5-year-old was critically injured after a car hit a tree overnight in Auburn. The 21-year-old male driver and an 8-year-old girl have non-life threatening injuries. The car was traveling 90 mph when it ran off the road around 2:30 a.m. and hit a tree on Auburn Way South. Emergency crews had to help free the man and boy after they were trapped in the car. Authorities say the girl managed to get out without help. Police are investigating to determine if alcohol was a factor in the accident.

Indianapolis, INA 23-year-old man was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital early Saturday morning after being trapped inside of a car after it crashed.
It happened around 2 a.m. near the intersection of Brookeville Road and South Post Road.
Officials say the 1999 Black Chevy Equinox was driving east on Brookeville Road when the driver lost control of the car causing it to roll over. The driver was trapped inside for about 30 minutes. He was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. Medics say he didn't complain of any pain and no serious injuries were found.
