A woman has died following a head-on collision on state Highway 195 about seven miles south of Colfax. The Washington State Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 9:38 a.m. today. A small semi and a sedan crashed head on, the Washington State Patrol said. The driver of the semi has been taken to Pullman Regional Hospital. The female driver of the sedan has died. UPDATE: Douglas Hinchey, 35, was driving a Chevy truck southbound on U.S. Highway 195 Friday morning when he fell asleep and his truck crossed over the centerline, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

Spokane Valley resident Jimmie D. Parker, 62, was killed in a motorcycle accident just before noon today on Highway 195 two miles south of the Spokane city limits. The Washington State Patrol reported that Parker was riding his 2005 Harley Davidson north in the left lane when he veered off the road and struck a tree. Parker was ejected from his motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet.
