A woman has died following a head-on collision on state Highway 195 about seven miles south of Colfax.
A woman has died following a head-on collision on state Highway 195 about seven miles south of Colfax. The Washington State Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 9:38 a.m. today. A small semi and a sedan crashed head on, the Washington State Patrol said. The driver of the semi has been taken to Pullman Regional Hospital. The female driver of the sedan has died. UPDATE: Douglas Hinchey, 35, was driving a Chevy truck southbound on U.S. Highway 195 Friday morning when he fell asleep and his truck crossed over the centerline, according to a Washington State Patrol news release. Gerald Wickard, 57, and Rodella Wickard were heading northbound when their Chrysler LeBaron was struck head on. Hinchey and Gerald Wickard were both injured and transported to Pullman Regional Hospital, according to the release. Rodella Wickard died at the scene. Hinchey faces charges of second-degree negligent driving, according to the release.
