Charlotte, NCFirefighters in Charlotte have cleared a vehicle crash that all but closed access to Interstate 77 southbound from Interstate 85 southbound Tuesday morning.
The incident was reported at 6:59 a.m. at milemarker 38. That's the ramp from I-85 to I-77 southbound. The left lane of the ramp is closed.
The accident was cleared from the roadway by 8 a.m., according to NCDOT.
Medic transported one patient with potentially life threatening injuries.

Charlotte, NCNorth Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly accident that happened Saturday night.
Troopers say a truck driver was driving on I-77, near the Mount Holly-Huntersville Road Overpass, when he drove his truck off the road and overturned.
The truck driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
Fifty-five gallons of oil was thrown from the truck, but it has been cleaned up since the accident.

Monday, December 2, 2013A man who led a Carroll County deputy on a high-speed chase avoided serious injuries despite flipping his vehicle on the median of I-77 just south of the Poplar Camp exit.
Luke Payton, who recently moved from North Carolina to Smithfield, Va., was complaining of back and neck pain but showed no visual signs of injury following the wreck, according to a Virginia State Trooper. Payton was transported to Twin County Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Charlotte, NCA Rock Hill woman is dead after a crash Thursday afternoon on Interstate 77 near Highway 160.
South Carolina Highway Patrol says 38 year old Lawanda Pressley's SUV ran off the interstate and hit a tree.
There's no word yet what caused the crash. Troopers are still investigating.
