According to the Georgia State Patrol, Juan Ocompto, 18, was killed after being ejected from the vehicle. Ocompto died at the scene. GSP officials say the driver was going too fast for conditions when he lost control and the 2002 Ford Explorer overturned. Four people were riding in the vehicle.

A man stopped on Interstate 85 in Anderson County was killed after being pinned by the car he was towing at about 6 p.m. Wednesday. The driver was getting out of his pickup truck when he realized it wasn't secure. When he got back in, he lost control of the truck, which went across three lanes of traffic and was hit by a passing car, ejected, and then hit by the towed vehicle.

A single-vehicle crash Monday, June 2, claimed the life of an Opelika man, according to the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

Matthew Jacob, 60, died after the 2011 Kenworth dump truck he was driving left the roadway and overturned. Jacob was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

The crash occurred at 4:53 p.m. on Interstate 85 (northbound) near the 44 mile marker, six miles south of Auburn.

Jacob died at 8:33 p.m. at Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Ga.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.

A car chase in Charlotte ended with two people being taken to the hospital, according to officials.

The chase started Tuesday afternoon around 3:54 p.m. when a Trooper with the NC Highway Patrol spotted a car going 95 miles per hour on Interstate 85 near Little Rock Road.

Police say the 2010 Mazda 3, which was being driven by a man later identified as 27-year-old Willie Cordelle Wright, was stolen out of Charlotte.
