Man struck, killed by car he was towing

The driver was ejected and was then struck by the car he had in tow. The Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Man dies of injuries in I-85 accident

Lance Cpl. Gary Miller of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the man who died was towing a car with his pickup and had stopped in an emergency lane on the interstate. Miller said the man had not secured his truck when he stopped.
A man stopped on Interstate 85 in Anderson County was killed after being pinned by the car he was towing at about 6 p.m. Wednesday. The driver was getting out of his pickup truck when he realized it wasn't secure. When he got back in, he lost control of the truck, which went across three lanes of traffic and was hit by a passing car, ejected, and then hit by the towed vehicle.
