Fatal Head-On Collision Claims Life of Ohio Man on U.S. 20 Near Angola, Indiana

A devastating head-on collision on U.S. 20 west of Angola claimed the life of 91-year-old Lester Merkle of Ohio City, Ohio on Saturday evening. The incident occurred just after 6:40 p.m. when Merkle's SUV inexplicably drifted left of center into oncoming traffic. According to the Steuben County Sheriff's Department, the driver of an approaching pickup truck attempted evasive maneuvers but was unable to avoid the collision.
