It was approximately 9:35 a.m. when a northbound SUV carrying four adults and three children crashed into a wall on I-94. Two of the children were thrown from the vehicle in the collision. Both were taken to the hospital, but one of them, a 10-year-old boy, has been pronounced dead, while the other one, an 11-year-old boy, remains in serious condition. Two other adults also sustained serious injuries and were brought to the hospital. We will add more details to this story as they become available.

At about 11:00am, a car containing four people was westbound on I-94 when the driver lost control, causing the car to roll. The vehicle rotated several times and eject one passenger, a 94-year-old man, before eventually coming to rest in a ditch. The elderly man who was ejected was declared dead at the scene of the crash, and the three other people in the vehicle were brought to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Ian Madeleine of Algonac was pronounced dead at McLaren Macomb Hospital following a 7:10 a.m. crash on I-94 near 21 Mile in Chesterfield Township. According to witnesses, Madeleine was driving erratically in his 2008 Hummer H3 before he hit the shoulder and guardrail, causing the vehicle to flip, and he was thrown through the sunroof. The accident remains under investigation.
