Ten-year-old Reeve Mathew was killed instantly when his head struck the concrete. The other child ejected was brought to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in serious condition.

It was approximately 9:35 a.m. when a northbound SUV carrying four adults and three children crashed into a wall on I-94. Two of the children were thrown from the vehicle in the collision. Both were taken to the hospital, but one of them, a 10-year-old boy, has been pronounced dead, while the other one, an 11-year-old boy, remains in serious condition. Two other adults also sustained serious injuries and were brought to the hospital. We will add more details to this story as they become available.
