Perla Avina was a passenger in a passenger Toyota Camry driven by her husband. They were driving home from the grocery store on Sunday afternoon when the incident occurred. Details are unclear at this time, but some sort of confrontation occurred as the couple was driving on 98th Avenue near Edes in Oakland shortly after 12 pm. After the confrontation, another car pulled up alongside the Avinas' black Toyota Camry, firing mulitple rounds into the car.
