Calif. woman killed in possible road rage dispute
The victim's husband, Luis Lopez Gallegos, said details about what led up to the shooting were foggy, but that he recalled another motorist not liking the way he drove, the newspaper reported.
Perla Avina was a passenger in a passenger Toyota Camry driven by her husband. They were driving home from the grocery store on Sunday afternoon when the incident occurred. Details are unclear at this time, but some sort of confrontation occurred as the couple was driving on 98th Avenue near Edes in Oakland shortly after 12 pm. After the confrontation, another car pulled up alongside the Avinas' black Toyota Camry, firing mulitple rounds into the car. Perla, 30, was struck and killed by one of the bullets. Oakland police are offering a $30,000 for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Oakland Police Homicide Unit at (510) 238-3821.
