Jamie Lynn Honaker was waiting at a bus stop on West Sample Road when a van jumped the curb and struck her. The driver, 56-year-old Mark Jusevic was drunk at the time of the accident and attempted to flee the scene, but his vehicle had a flat tire from damage done to it in the accident and he only made it two blocks. Honaker was declared dead at the scene. Jusevic is being held at a local jail on $102,000 bond.

A motorcyclist was killed in a high-speed collision in Deerfield Beach on Tuesday at around 3:20 p.m. near North Dixie Highway and Northeast 51st Street. Victor Angelo De Souza, 21, was driving a motorcycle and  collided with two cars. De Souza, who was with another motorcyclist, was traveling at high speed when his 1994 Honda hit a 2006 Scion then a 2005 Honda Odyssey. De Souza was transported to Broward Health North where he later died. There were no other injuries reported in the crash. The motorcyclist driving near De Souza fled the scene.

The two brothers Kelv’ron Florence and Apollo Brown were walking home along Bryan Road from a basketball game at school when they were hit by a truck that fled the scene. They were rushed to a local hospital to recieve treatment. Apollo Brown, the younger of the two brothers, later died from his injuries and Kelv’ron Florence is still listed as critical. The police are looking for a newer model, metallic silver Toyota Tacoma with fog light covers along with the grill emblem, a missing headlight, and damage to the front passenger side.

A family made an emotional plea Wednesday to find the driver who killed a father of four in a hit-and-run crash in Oakland Park. Rollin Francis, 35, was visiting from Jamaica earlier this month when he was struck by a car as he tried to cross the 1800 block of Oakland Park Boulevard around 11 p.m. on Aug. 10. He later died at the hospital. "This was his dream. He always wanted to come here," Francis' sister said.

A Pompano Beach woman was arrested after she struck and killed a motorcyclist Friday, then fled and tried to cover up the evidence, deputies said. Nadia Verdoni, 42, was charged with DUI manslaughter, leaving the scene involving death and tampering with evidence, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

A police pursuit that started in Lauderdale Lakes after a hit-and-run crash ended with an SUV in a watery sinkhole in Lauderhill Monday morning, officials said. The incident began when a woman was struck by a white truck in the 4700 block of Northwest 24th Court in Lauderdale Lakes around 6 a.m., the Broward Sheriff's Office said. The woman, identified as 68-year-old Betty J. Greene, was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in stable condition, the BSO said.

Police are looking for a driver who struck and killed a 15-year-old boy and fled the scene in Fort Lauderdale Sunday. The crash happened just after 1 a.m. in the 2700 block of West Broward Boulevard as the pedestrian, Justin Flowers, was crossing the street, Fort Lauderdale Police said. According to police, an older model Jeep Cherokee changed lanes and struck Flowers, who was thrown to the ground. He was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center where he later died.

Police are looking for two drivers who struck a pedestrian in Hollywood in a crash that was caught on camera. The incident happened just after 8 p.m. Monday at the intersection of State Road 7/U.S. 441 and Hollywood Boulevard, police said. The victim was struck by a white older model Ford Expedition or SUV, then struck by a silver Hyundai Elantra. Both of the vehicles fled the scene, police said. Video of the incident released by police Wednesday shows the moments just before the first impact. It also shows the Ford at a nearby gas station.
