A 19-year-old man who was dressed in black and standing in the middle of the road was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer Tuesday night, police said today.

Police found Devonte Brown, of Florence, lying in the road unresponsive.

Police were dispatched to the area of Route 206 and Connector Road at 11:39 p.m. after a caller advised them of having to swerve to avoid hitting him. Brown did not move despite the caller blowing the horn, police said.

The officers found a tractor-trailer stopped in the southbound lane of Rising Sun Road in front of Petro Truck Stop.
