Police say 28 New Jersey students have been taken to a hospital as a precaution after their school bus was involved in a minor crash. North Brunswick Police Lt. Gina Braconi says the accident happened on Route 130 around 8 a.m. Wednesday. She says that all 28 students on board were taken for checkups after some complained of pain. None have injuries that are considered life-threatening. Braconi says the students were from North Brunswick but she's not sure which school.

A 61-year-old city man died in a car crash on Tuesday evening at Bloomfield Avenue and Market Street, authorities said.

Richard Wozny was driving a 2008 Kia car when he sideswiped a 2013 Toyota Corolla stopped at a red light on Market Street at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday, Clifton Police Detective Lt. Michael Sweeney said. Wozny continued eastbound on Market Street into the intersection, struck a NJ Transit bus and then crashed into a utility pole.

Police have identified the mother who was killed and the daughter who was injured after they were hit by a pickup truck in Voorhees, New Jersey.

They are 63-year-old Serafina Fel of Cherry Hill and 38-year-old Anna Veksler, also of Cherry Hill.

Police say they were walking to their home from a nearby drug store and were in a crosswalk at the time of the crash, but it's unclear at this point if they had the signal.

Investigators said they were treating this as a possible 'distracted driving' case, but did not release further details.

Two people were injured and two others killed in a car wreck early Saturday morning in New Jersey.

Just after 2 a.m. in Paterson, a car carrying four people crashed into a utility pole after the driver lost control.

The Hyundai sedan was traveling south at Haledon Ave and North First Street at the time. It is unclear what led to the wreck, but speed and the weather are possible factors.

The violent impact of the collision nearly split the car in two as it crashed into the utility pole. It took 90 minutes to extricate the driver.

Two men were killed and a teenager was badly injured after a speeding car hit one vehicle and then struck another head-on along Route 47 Thursday night, authorities said. Stephen Carsten, 29, of Milville was traveling northbound in a Chevy Malibu when he drove the vehicle across a double-yellow line as it approached a bend in the road and side-swiped a Ford Taurus, Middle Township police said in a news release.

One person is dead and another person is injured following a two-vehicle crash in Middle Township, Cape May County. It happened around 4:50 p.m. Tuesday on Avalon Boulevard. Investigators say a silver minivan traveling east on Avalon Boulevard crossed the center line and struck a green Jeep Wrangler. The 51-year-old driver of the minivan, later identified as Jack Brian Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say his identity is being withheld pending notification to his family.

A two-car accident in the eastbound lane near Wendy’s Restaurant closed Tilton Road Monday afternoon, April 21, and sent one person to the hospital.

The Northfield Police Department responded to a report of a crash on Tilton Road adjacent to the Wendy’s Restaurant and the Mainland Professional Plaza in the 700/800 block.

A Brooklyn man is dead after he landed in a New Jersey backyard in a skydiving accident. The incident happened Sunday afternoon in Washington Township, in Gloucester County. The 49-year-old victim, Arkady Shenker, was wearing a wing suit allows a skydiver to move forward while descending and is said to have been an experienced diver with more than 350 jumps. He had just jumped with 15 others from a plane operated by a Monroe company called Freefall Adventures. The cause of the fatal accident has not yet been determined, and it is unclear if the specialized suit opened properly.

A woman was killed in a crash on Route 35 in Belmar early Sunday morning.

The victim's father stated that his 26-year-old daughter, Tiffany Soto, of Howell, died in the crash.

Witnesses say the car carrying the victim was coming down Eighth Avenue when it collided with another car. Soto's father says her boyfriend was driving at the time.

The car collided then with a pole, knocking it down, and flew into a parking lot at a marina. Soto's father says his daughter was ejected from the vehicle and ended up in the river. Others were hospitalized.

A police officer was critically injured in an early morning crash in Lodi. It happened on Route 46, across from Christopher Street. The Bergen County Office of Emergency Management says a 2012 Ford Fusion struck a Bergen County police officer's vehicle from behind. They say the driver, identified as 36-year-old Michael Ettz, then fled the scene on foot, but was apprehended a short time later by Lodi police.
