Monday, June 23, 2014A driver has been charged with DUI manslaughter in a wreck that killed a western North Carolina woman who was on vacation in Florida.
Elizabeth Braly, 45, of Hendersonville, died Tuesday in the town of Daytona Beach Shores. Florida Highway Patrol officials said Braly was walking with her family when a drunk driver plowed through a toll booth and hit her.
Braly was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members told FOX Carolina Wednesday night that Braly, a mother of seven children, was visiting family members in the Daytona Beach area and frequented that area often.

Boston, MAA New Hampshire man has died in an early morning snowmobile crash in Barnstead.
Authorities say Aaron E. Brown of Dover was operating a snowmobile on private property at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday when he failed to negotiate a turn in a trail and collided with several trees. Brown was wearing a helmet.
Authorities say it appears that speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash.

Cleveland-Akron, OHThe Wickliffe Police Department responded to a reported car accident Sunday morning at the Shell gas station.
Upon arrival, police found 34-year-old Benjamin Scholes at the scene of the accident.
Scholes admitting to losing control of his vehicle on a patch of ice.
Scholes' blood alcohol content was a .189. He was arrested and charged with OVI failure to control. He was released after posting a $3,500 bond.
Police say the canopy of the gas station and gas pump received extensive damage from the crash.

Saturday, March 8, 2014Authorities in Bay County say a drunken driver crashed an SUV into a house, killing a man who lived there and injuring his wife. The crash happened early Sunday in Auburn, about 10 miles west of Bay City. Police stated that the dead man was 41-year-old Vaughn Lietzke. Authorities say his 42-year-old wife Sandra Lietzke was airlifted to Saginaw’s Saint Mary’s of Michigan Medical Center, where she was in stable condition. Deputies say the 21-year-old driver, later identified as Hunter D. Motko, 21, failed to stop at a stop sign, ran over a curb and struck a corner of the house.

Atlanta, GAPolice in Atlanta's northwest suburbs are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian and resulted in charges of drunken driving and vehicular homicide.
Cobb County police say 50-year-old James Underwood of Acworth was standing near his Ford F-150 pickup truck in Acworth around 12:40 a.m. Saturday. Police say he had stopped while distributing advertising signs along the side of the road.

Portland-Auburn, MENew Hampshire authorities say they believe alcohol was a factor in a snowmobile crash that severely injured a Lancaster man.
New Hampshire Fish and Game says 40-year-old Michael Vashaw was riding alone around 10:30 a.m. Sunday when he failed to make it around a turn and fell off his machine.
He was taken to Weeks Memorial Hospital and then Dartmouth-Hitchcock medical center for severe but not life-threatening injuries.

Police say the woman was charged with suspicion of driving a snowmobile while drunk.

Marquette, MIThe Florence County Sheriff's Office says a De Pere man has died in a snowmobile crash in northeastern Wisconsin.
The accident happened just before 2 a.m. Saturday in the Town of Tipler.
Authorities say the snowmobile went off a road and hit a tree. The victim was identified as 48-year-old Russell Krause of De Pere. Officials say he was wearing a helmet at the time, but died on impact.
The sheriff's office says alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the crash.
