A driver was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the city of Cortland late Friday night, according to the Cortland County Sheriff's Office.

The name of the driver is being withheld for now pending notification of his or her family.

Around 11:30 p.m., sheriff's deputies were called to the intersection of Starr Road and Route 13 for a two-car accident.

The cars that crashed were a 2005 Ford Focus and a 1996 Geo Prism. The driver of the Ford was killed.

The son of the Cortland County district attorney died in a one-vehicle crash in the town of Solon Sunday night.

Robert D. Suben, 27, of Cortland, was speeding on Marathon Road at about 6:23 p.m. Sunday when he lost control on a curve and drove into a tree, state police said.

Suben was declared dead at the scene of the crash. He was the only person in his car, state police said.

An official in the district attorney's office who refused to give her name confirmed that Robert Suben is the son of Cortland County District Attorney Mark Suben.

Police have identified the driver killed in a one-car accident in Cortland County on Friday.

Gerald Natoli, 47, of the Chenango County hamlet of Smithville Flats, died after driving off the road and hitting a tree, according to the road division of the Cortland County Sheriff's Office.

The accident occurred around 12:10 a.m. on state Route 41 in the town of Willet. Natoli was in his 2006 Subaru Forester.

Police haven't announced a cause of the crash.
