Seattle-Tacoma, WAIt was just after midnight when a 26-year-old man who was driving on State Route 101 started to fall asleep, and he careened into an embankment. He, along with a 30-year-old woman and four children under the age of 10, were all injured and taken to the hospital. None of them were wearing seat belts, though an 8-month-old boy who was restrained in a car seat was not hurt.

Seattle-Tacoma, WAAt about 9:00pm, a car with 16-year-old male passenger struck a bear that was in the middle of Highway 12. Though the passenger was wearing a seat belt, it failed to properly restrain him, and he was injured enough to warrant being flown by helicopter to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. The driver of the car was not injured, and the condition of the bear is unknown.
