Four people were injured, one seriously, Saturday morning in a head-on collision on state Highway 12 caused by an allegedly drunk driver, Santa Rosa police said Saturday. The collision occurred just after 10:30 a.m. on Highway 12 at Melita Road, when an eastbound Ford Mustang crossed the center divider and struck a westbound Nissan Sentra head-on, according to police. The Sentra overturned and landed in the westbound lane with people trapped inside.

Four people were injured in a collision late Friday night on Highway 12 in Rochester. The two-car collision occurred about 8:42 p.m. at milepost 43. The driver of a red Chevrolet pickup truck attempted to pass a silver GMC Yukon, and ended up striking the vehicle. The road was closed for four hours as troopers investigated the scene. The truck’s two occupants were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The truck’s driver, a 22-year-old Centralia man, was arrested on charges of DUI and vehicular assault after troopers observed signs of alcohol impairment.
