Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLA 55-year-old woman died after she was hit by a car while walking or standing on Florida Avenue. Leann Garrett, of Tampa, was transported to Tampa General Hospital where she died. Hope Wertley, 22, was driving a Ford Fusion on Florida Avenue in the outside lane approaching the intersection of Floral Avenue around 8:50 a.m. Sunday when the collision occurred.
