Alcohol appears to have played a role in a fatal wrong-way two-car accident that occurred early Thursday on Interstate 5 near Medford. Oregon State Police is asking witnesses to come forward in connection with the crash, which took place around 3:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-5 about five miles south of Medford. OSP, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, local fire and medical personnel, and ODOT were dispatched to milepost 24, said Lieutenant Gregg Hastings, an OSP spokesman.
