Birmingham, ALTerence Deon Welch was fleeing from a state trooper that attempted to stop him for a traffic violation when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a 2006 Ford F-150. Welch was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected, causing him to sustain serious injuries. He was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Ford did not sustain any injuries.

Birmingham, ALA Bessemer man was killed in a morning crash on Interstate 59. Jeffrey Lee Allred, 31, was killed when the Chevrolet Silverado in which he was a passenger swerved into a median and crashed into a bridge-support column on Interstate 59 south of Bessemer. Allred was not wearing a seat belt, and he was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Charles Brandon Lemley, 32, of Pleasant Grove, was the driver.

Birmingham, ALA third person has died from injuries in a Dec. 21 head-on collision in Gardendale.
Mickie Lynne Farmer, 33, was pronounced dead at 9:05 p.m. Friday, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. She had been at UAB Hospital since the crash one week ago today.
The accident happened at 7:06 p.m. on Old Highway 31 at Church Road. A 2002 Ford F-150 driving northbound crossed over the grassy median into oncoming traffic and struck a Chevrolet Lumina head on.
