Sunday, October 19, 2014A truck driven by David "Dave" Raber, 59, a longtime Sumter Electric Cooperative employee, rear-ended a Kia Soul driven by Channing Strong, 28, of Cookeville, Tenn. Strong and his wife, Lena Strong, 29, were seriously injured and taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Their 5-year-old son, Olan, was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, where he was pronounced dead. Raber, of Howey-in-the-Hills, was treated for minor injuries and released from Leesburg Regional Medical Center. SECO Energy is doing an internal investigation. The crash happened about 3:35 p.m.
