Thursday, April 30, 2015A single-engine propeller plane went down a few miles north of the Las Animas County Fairgrounds in Trinidad at about 1 p.m. Thursday. The pilot was the only person on boad, and he was dead at the scene. We'll update this post as more information becomes available.

Friday, October 24, 2014Troopers state the woman was stopped Friday evening on Interstate 25 near Trinidad for suspected drunk driving and then drove off. The state patrol says troopers called off the chase because they deemed it too dangerous. A short time later the Colorado State Patrol was notified that the fleeing vehicle had crashed while exiting the highway. The woman received minor injuries and was treated at a hospital. Charges against the woman have not been released.

Wednesday, November 20, 2013The Colorado State Patrol says two men are dead after the trailer they were in crashed on the highway near Trinidad.
The C.S.P. says the men were in a 2010 Freightliner that was pulling two trailers southbound on Interstate 25 Thursday morning. The accident happened after the driver failed to negotiate a curve, overcorrected, and lost control of the trailer, which rolled.
