A vehicle violently crashed into a utility pole, flew into the air and struck a tree killing its driver. The driver, who apparently lost control of the vehicle was driving south on Route 551 in Little Beaver, a quarter-mile south of Village Drive, when the accident happened around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. County deputy coroner Richard Johnson along with the State police responded to the scene of the accident.

Giovanni Costa,19, from New Castle, was killed early Sunday morning around 2 a.m. in a one-vehicle crash that injured four other people. Driver Andrew Birch, 23, of New Castle, lost control of his vehicle that was traveling westbound of Route 108 in Plain Grove, Lawrence County. The vehicle, with four passengers, exited the road and crashed into a tree. Costa was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Mr. Birch suffered severe injuries and was taken by helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital.
