Hartford & New Haven, CTElsa Aucay, 21, of Danbury and a 51-year-old woman were crossing the road to get to a bus stop shortly after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when they were hit by an SUV driven by a 26-year-old woman. The driver stopped and cooperated with police. The women who were hit were not in a crosswalk, it was dark out, and they were wearing dark-colored clothing in an area with no streetlights. Elsa Aucay is in critical condition at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and the 51-year-old woman was treated and released.
